How to Completely Uninstall KyberGate

Overview

This guide covers how to fully remove KyberGate from all device types — iPads, Macs, Chromebooks, and Windows PCs.

Mac (macOS) — One-Line Uninstall

Open Terminal and run:

curl -sL https://kybergate.com/scripts/uninstall-macos.sh | sudo bash

This script will:

  • Stop the KyberGate Agent process
  • Remove the LaunchAgent
  • Delete the application from /Applications
  • Clean up all support files and preferences
  • Remove package receipts

Manual Steps (if you prefer not to use the script)

  1. Remove the MDM profile from your MDM console, or:
    • Go to System Settings > General > Profiles
    • Select the KyberGate profile and click the minus button to remove
  2. Uninstall the KyberGateAgent app:
    • Open Finder > Applications
    • Drag KyberGateAgent to the Trash
    • Empty Trash

iPad / iPhone

  1. Open your MDM console (Jamf, Mosyle, Kandji, etc.)
  2. Remove the KyberGate MDM Profile from the device or device group
  3. Remove the KyberGateAgent app if it was pushed via MDM
  4. If the profile was installed manually:
    • Go to Settings > General > VPN and Device Management
    • Tap the KyberGate profile and select Remove Profile
  5. Delete the KyberGateAgent app from the Home Screen

Chromebook

  1. In Google Admin Console, go to Devices > Chrome > Settings > Apps and Extensions
  2. Find the KyberGate extension and remove it from the policy
  3. The extension will be automatically removed from all managed Chromebooks on next sync
  4. If using proxy filtering, also remove the PAC URL:
    • Go to Devices > Chrome > Settings > Network > Proxy
    • Set back to Direct connection or remove the KyberGate PAC URL

Windows PC

  1. Open Settings > Apps > Installed Apps
  2. Search for KyberGate
  3. Click Uninstall and follow the prompts
  4. If deployed via GPO or Intune, remove the MSI deployment policy first

After Uninstalling

  • Devices will stop appearing in the KyberGate dashboard within a few minutes
  • Web filtering and monitoring will stop immediately upon removal
  • No data is left on the device after uninstall
